Historic museums provide insight into the Pioneer Valley’s past, from the colonial era through the industrial age. Some museums also provide support for genealogy research, offer living exhibits, or special events. Area museums cover the range from before the first European settlers and conflict with the French and Indians, to the spread of industrialism, use of water power and development of the mills, through the advent of the machine age.
