The Chesterfield General Store is located at 432 Main Road (Route 143) in Chesterfield. It’s a good place to go to get a hot beverage or baked goods after a hike at the Chesterfield Gorge or East Branch Trail. It does not have a public restroom, but if you ask nicely they might let you use their employees-only one, which is very clean. They have hot chocolate from a machine that was, after my hike, just about the most warming, satisfying beverage I have ever consumed. They also had delicious-looking baked goods, including whoopee pies, which I managed to resist sampling.
