Southern Vermont

The Pioneer Valley and Connecticut River Valley are bioregions, not political divisions. As such, the area encompasses Southern Vermont as well as Western Massachusetts. In Massachusetts, the area includes Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties, from Greenfield to Springfield. But there are also strong economic, political and environmental connections to Southern Vermont.
