The Farm to Marketplace farmers market opened for the season today at Downtown Springfield’s Shops at Marketplace.

The market will take place every Thursday through the fall, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. It will feature local farmers, artisan food and artists. Visitors will be able to pick up in-season vegetables, baked goods, fresh flowers, handmade soaps and more.

The Marketplace’s boutique shops and nearby Sweet Ideas cafe will be open, aiming to create a pleasant mid-day break for city dwellers. The market also has plans to include live music and invite guest farmers and artists.

The Shops at Marketplace is located at 1341 Main Street. For more information and news about upcoming events, visit the new shopping district’s Facebook page.

We’re here at the first ever Farmers Market at The Shops at Marketplace. Stop by today between 11-3 and say hi!
