Tractor/Equipment Operator
40-60 hours per week, April – November
Responsible for operation of all tractors in our small fleet, performing everything from field prep, to planting, cultivation, and disease control. You will work closely with farm manager to ensure all equipment work is being performed well and in a timely manner. You will be responsible for general maintenance and minor repair tasks, and report any equipment issues as they arise. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience operating tractors and vegetable farm equipment and a knowledge of vegetable production practices in New England as well as an ability to adapt quickly to the ever-changing farm environment. Applicants should also be detail-oriented, have an aptitude for record keeping, calculating for fertilizer and pest control applications, and trouble-shooting equipment. When tractor work is light or conditions unfavorable, there will be field tasks to work on such as harvesting, planting, weeding, or greenhouse work. Competitive hourly pay is commensurate with experience.
