Reed Farm is seeking poultry processing crew members!
Reed Farm is a small-scale pastured poultry farm and custom poultry processing facility in Sunderland MA. We operate year-round and offer fresh poultry wholesale to local retailers and schools. We are the only poultry processing facility in Western MA with a Small Enterprise Exemption License, which allows poultry processed at our facility to be sold in MA. Join us in our mission to provide safe, healthy poultry for wholesale and offer poultry processing services to local farms and backyard poultry raisers, while respecting our stewardship of the land and practicing sustainable and regenerative practices.
$14-$16 per hour. $13 to start and training, raises per skills and experience gained.
Part-time and Full-time, with potential to continue through fall, winter, and long-term.
Experience appreciated, but not required.
Responsibilities include:
*use of knives and sharp tools
*dispatch and processing of poultry
*packing final product
*clean up and sanitization of facility
Physical requirements:
*ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
*ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly
*ability to work in wet environments
*ability to work in an environment with live animals
*ability to work with live and raw livestock
