Mitch Moskal has joined Polka Jammer Network.
Five months after WMUA-FM dropped its Saturday morning polka show, host Mitch Moskal has brought his music back to fans with an online radio show on Polka Jammer Network.
“The Early Bird Polka Show” with Moskal made its online debut [May 28th] at 6 a.m. at polkajammernetwork.org
“I love it. You get more response online,” Moskal said.
In January, the student-run WMUA at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, reduced polka programming from 12 hours over two days to four hours on Sunday. Nearly 1,700 people petitioned for its return, but WMUA would not reverse its decision.
Moskal, a resident of Holyoke where the show originates, has been a DJ for more than 27 years. He continues to host a country music summer series at WMUA.
“The Early Bird Polka Show” is not his first stint with the Polka Jammer Network. He hosted an online Thursday night show between 2006 and 2009.
